Biba (Areeba) was a beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother of three. She was an avid reader, an aspiring writer whom we lost at the tender age of 30 to brain cancer.
Biba Cancer Research Foundation (BibaCRF) is a memorial not-for-profit organization. We research with the aim of discovering early cancer detection biomarkers and strategies to improve patient survival outcomes for brain and other hard-to-treat cancers.
Biba (Areeba) was a beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother of three. She was an avid reader, an aspiring writer whom we lost at the tender age of 30 to a rare, advanced form of brain cancer, leptomeningeal carcinomatosis. The last few years of her life were marked by her struggle with several occurrences of cancer, the last one of which she succumbed to, when it metastasized to her brain, and spread to her entire central nervous system.
This research foundation is in her cherished memory to improve survival of those that suffer from a similar affliction as she once did. Hard-to-treat cancers have over 70% fatality rates, often detected too late for timely treatment.
To enable timely treatment and improved survival in cancer patients through preventative and early cancer detection strategies
Research into investigating cancer biology for relevant biomarkers and other detection strategies to enable early detection of malignancy in cancer patients. As a not-for-profit research institute, BibaCRF will collaborate with other researchers and support such research with the intent of sharing and publishing its findings.
Biba Cancer Research Foundation (BibaCRF) is privileged to have a diverse team of experts from a wide range of backgrounds. Already well-established in their careers, they generously volunteer their time and effort towards BibaCRF’s operational and research projects.
